Fire Warden Training Course
Aim: For fire wardens to learn what to do and how to manage people to safety in an emergency or fire situation.
Delivery: The sessions will be delivered using mainly PowerPoint presentations and group discussion. Photographs and samples are used to emphasize certain aspects of the course.
Award: Each candidate will receive a certificate if a successful understanding has been gained.
Description
For larger employers or for those with complex buildings it may be necessary to use fire wardens within the workplace. Fire Wardens have specific duties relating to an area of the premises and are
there to facilitate the safe evacuation of all occupants of the building. This is an extension course to the Fire Awareness Training Course and covers fire risk management principles, basic fire risk
assessment. It will cover evacuation routines and practices and the management and monitoring of the drills. The course will focus in on management of the evacuation and will examine the role in reference to evacuation of all occupants within the premises and includes simulated practical activities.
By the end of this course the delegate will be able to:
• Understand the responsibilities of a fire marshal
• Be capable of undertaking the required actions in the event of an incident in the workplace
• Be capable of spotting and reporting fire hazards in the workplace
• Have a basic firefighting knowledge
