The course provides a comprehensive level of knowledge in fire stopping specification, installation, inspection and maintenance and repair.
Once passing the final examination, candidates will have an understanding of how fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers should be installed onsite and methods of inspection to prove this. This will include the issues around them as well as the standards and regulations that must be adhered to when undertaking repairs, maintenance and installation works.
Completing the fire stopping inspection course will provide candidates with the competence to be able to understand the theory of inspection and understand the standards and regulations surrounding them.
Candidates have two attempts at each assessment module in order to pass and progress through the course.
Once candidates have achieved the fire stopping inspection course, their competency does not stop there as the next step is to become a Certificated Fire Stopping Inspector under the Fire Protection Inspection Training Scheme.
Alternatively, we offer further development in the form of our Level 3 Award in the Inspection and Testing of Fire Stopping Installations. This qualification has been accredited onto the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is published on Ofqual’s Register of Qualifications.
