This is an essential part of any fire risk assessment required by law to be done by a building’s Responsible Person. Booking your Certified Inspector Assessment

To become a certificated fire stopping inspector, you first have to successfully complete and pass the Level 3 Award Inspection and Testing of Fire Stopping Installations along with one of the three other course listed on this page.

Certified Inspector Assessment Day (what it entails)
Candidates will need to demonstrate in a practical, working environment, both the knowledge you used to get you through the level 3 training, and the expertise you use on site with fire stopping, linear gap seals and cavity barriers.
This will be achieved by an onsite assessment from one of Independent Fire Trainings Assessors to ensure that you are competent in the practical inspection of fire stopping on construction sites or in new and existing buildings.
- Candidates will need to:
Demonstrate sound knowledge and accuracy in the recording of their findings (particularly where inconsistencies are detected). - Aptly make recommendations for subsequent repairs and remedial works (particularly where inconsistencies are detected).
- Issue the necessary reports in accordance with the requirements of the Scheme.

Certificated inspectors are liable to be re-assessed every three years so that clients can be sure their knowledge and skills are always up to date.
