Introduction to Steel Fire Protection Course:

This course is available to anyone who wishes to gain foundational knowledge of steel fire protection, such as boards, wet spray, and intumescent protection or coatings, used to protect structural steel in a fire situation.

The Introduction to Steel Fire Protection Course provides an introductory level of training, covering the installation, maintenance and repair of the various types of steel fire protection. Furthermore, the course details information on the building regulations and associated legislation specific to steel fire protection.

Upon passing the final examination, candidates will have an understanding of the different types of steel fire protection, how steel fire protection is installed onsite and the methods of maintenance and repair. This will include the issues around them as well as the standards and regulations that must be adhered to when undertaking repairs, maintenance, and installation works.

Completing the Introduction to Steel Fire Protection Course will provide the competence to be able to understand how structural steel is protected in a fire situation and understand the standards and regulations surrounding steel fire protection.

Candidates have two attempts at each assessment module in order to pass and progress through the course.

The Introduction to Steel Fire Protection Course holds 8 CPD hours, which were awarded by the Institution of Fire Engineers.

This course is recognised by the Institution of Fire Engineers.

This course is accredited by the Institute of Fire Safety Managers.
